10 Ways To Quit Smoking

The number one reason why people fail to quit smoking can be attributed to innately buried thoughts that may be hard to reorient.  Indeed, quitting this unhealthy habit is a matter of a transformation of one’s way of thinking.  Let’s discuss ten ways to quit smoking.  Also, know that there is no single best way to quit smoking.

1. Learn about the many, many, many perils of smoking.  Majority smokers fail to quit because they are not aware of the ill consequences of smoking.  Worse, countless smokers are aware of the dangers of smoking, but they feel that they’re not true – at least, until they develop the particular ailment or disease themselves.

2. Remind yourself that you’re not immune from ailments and diseases.  You’re just human.  You’re no alien from a dead world.  Your body is susceptible to damage and injury, and smoking multiplies that coefficient tenfold.  You’re not exempt from the perils of smoking.  You’re no different from anybody else: you’re only human.

3. Remind yourself that you are stronger than how you you perceive yourself to be.  With a little concentration, you won’t have to succumb to the slightest temptation to smoke.  If another person asks you to jump in front of a speeding car, will you?  You’re not that stupid, right?  Hence, you’re a fool to put to waste 7 minutes of your life with every stick you smoke.

4. Don’t think of a stick of cigarette as a reward.  It hardly is.

5. Know that smoking will never make you hip.  Nowadays, when people would rather enjoy great health and live longer years, smokers are looked down on with pity.

6. Remember that though smoking may help you relieve stress, it will come at a costly price.  The dangers of smoking are too big to ignore.  Would you rather be given a few stress-free minutes at the expense of a lot of years deducted from your life?

7. No one ever said that you should smoke after eating.  Smoking won’t take away the taste of food within your mouth.  Want to eliminate such?  Try brushing your teeth.

8. Learn that when you smoke in a communal place, you’re killing people.  Second-hand smoke is just as hazardous as first hand smoke.  When you smoke in a public venue, you are comparable to a messenger of death and decay.

9. Learn that smoking doesn’t help you shred weight.  Cigarettes burn your heart, not your fats.

10. Remember that smoking won’t help you keep your focus at work.  It’s all in the mind.  Everything depends on you and not what you depend on.

11.  Bonus tip: There are stop smoking drugs out there to help you finally quit, including some that will help relieve the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal .
